Wattpad Wednesday - "The Cell Phone Swap"

Have you ever heard of Wattpad? It's an online space where unpublished writers can write stories (fiction, nonfiction, drama, fantasy, fan fiction, etc.) - clearly all types of stories. There are tons of talented writers out there - and a bunch of them post their stories on Wattpad. If you've never heard of it, I highly suggested checking it out (click here to do that!).

Due to the awesome-ness of Wattpad, I've decided to begin a new feature called Wattpad Wednesday where I will read and review different stories that are published on Wattpad by various users. So welcome to the first installment of Wattpad Wednesday!

The Cell Phone Swap by Lindsey Summers (@DoNotMicrowave)

General information
Number of parts - 42
Number of reads - 64.3 million
Number of votes - 1 million
Part of a series - yes, but the remaining books are not finished yet

What it's about
Keeley accidentally swaps cell phones with a rivaling high school's star quarterback. Unable to switch back until a week later, she must interact with the arrogant boy passing along texts and voicemails. As she gets to know him better, she realizes there's more to him than sexual innuendos and egotistical comments. But when identities are revealed and secret exposed, will Keeley's feelings remain?

Why I loved it
I'm a sucker for any story that involves technology. There were many points in the story that actually reminded me of I've Got Your Number, so it's not wonder I really enjoyed it! I felt connected to Keeley who, many times, was toeing the line between wanting to know the truth and settling for the lie. She did everything and anything she could to work past the secrets. She proved to the quarterback that he's more than his past and that his past doesn't define him. I loved seeing the characters grow. Lindsey Summers did a great job writing this. I'm excited to read the sequel (also on Wattpad).

Why you should read it
Like I said, it has a similar feel to the story line, in terms of technology to I've Got Your Number, so if you read that, there's a chance you'll like this one as well. While reading, keep it mind that it hasn't been edited nor has it been published. So it's closer to a first draft of the story - which makes it more raw and beautiful.

My rating
4/5 stars
