Top Ten Tuesday - Finished Series I have Yet to Finish

Welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish. This week's topic -- finished series that I have yet to finish. I love book series, but sometimes don't always have the chance to read the whole thing. So I'm excited about this week's topic! Here are my picks, in no particular order.

1. The Mortal Instrument Series by Cassandra Clare

Clare, Cassandra. 2007.
I sped through the first book (City of Bones) and loved it. It was fast paced and left me on such a cliff hanger. But I didn't have the other books and my TBR list is forever long. Unfortunately, the series got placed on the back burner. But I'll definitely go back to it.

2.  The Beautiful Bastard series by Christian Lauren

Lauren, Christina. 2013.

To be honest, I'm not sure if this series is technically finished or not. According to Goodreads, we're up to Book 4 (and 4.5), but regardless I'm on Book 3 (Beautiful Player) and just haven't moved forward with reading it. I love the writing style of Christina Lauren and will be finishing this series. (Plus the spin off Wild Seasons series as well).

3. Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong

Armstrong, Kelley. 2008.
Another one that I sped through the first book (The Summoning) and really enjoyed it. Another one that ends on a cliff hanger. Another one that I have yet to finish. (aka the same sob story of #1).

4. Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard

Shepard, Sara. 2006.
Maybe it's because I started watching the show before reading the books - and the show and books actually resembled each other. After 3 or 4 of them, I was done and didn't want to read them anymore. Which is unfortunate because they were actually good books.

5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Collins, Suzanne. 2008.
Okay, put down the pitch forks. I read the first one - in a matter of hours. But I didn't have access to the rest of the series and, for me, the momentum just died. I didn't feel the need to continue reading the books - probably because it was all anyone could talk about and it was good, but I felt okay not reading the rest of it. I will probably never finish this series, to be honest.

6. After series by Anna Todd

Todd, Anna. 2014.
Technically, I read these online before they were published - but I know that the author changed a lot (especially for the series ending). So in that respect, I have not finished this series yet. But I will, because I love the story of Hardin and Tessa.

7. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson

Larson, Stieg. 2005.
With the new one coming out last week, I haven't finished this series. Although, I'm not sure if this is the end of the series or if the ghost writer is going to continue on...

8. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

Westerfeld, Scott. 2005.
I read most of the series (read as 3 out of the 4 books), but again I both lost interest and didn't have access to the next book in the series. This is another one that I probably won't finish.

9. Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Kinsella, Sophie. 1999.

I really tried to like these books, but after a few I was done. I couldn't get into them to the point of wanting to finish the series. I will not finish this one either - which is disappointing because I enjoy a lot of Kinsella's other work.

10. King and Maxwell series by David Baldacci

Baldacci, David. 2009.
Honestly, I didn't even realize that this was a series. I happened to be writing a review for a later posting and found out that First Family was part of a larger, 6 book series. Mainly for that reason, I haven't read all of them. But you bet that they're now on my list.

The rest of the series that I haven't finished aren't even finished being written yet - Private series by James Patterson, Crossfire series by Sylvia Day, Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
