Looking Back and Looking Forward

I've dropped the ball with blogging. I can see that. No need to point it out. Within the past few months, I've spent some time really thinking about my content, my vision and the purpose for my blog. There are so many blogs out there and I really wanted to find something that was going to set me apart from the others, especially when it comes to my focus. I needed to find my voice and carve out this space for myself within the internet.

So with that, I'm doing some redesign. I'm re-working the look of my blog. I'm rethinking my content and what I want it to be like (i.e. what topics I want to focus on and write about). I'm rethinking my thoughts and what I can bring new to the space. Like I mentioned, there's so much out there, and I really want to focus and bring something new to the table. This could be something brand new, or simply innovative. I think we may be traveling down the path of innovative.

Blogging and jumping in head first these past five months have taught me a lot about the work that goes into a successful website. It's taught me how important quality is over quantity. It's taught me that great things take a lot of hard work and time. It isn't going to happen over night and I'm going to have to invest a lot of time into this, and I'm very excited to do so.

What can we expect looking ahead? Well, for starters, the content of my posts. It will always be related to books somehow, but maybe not in the traditional "book review" sense. I'm excited to try a new pathway and write about some different types of posts. Plus, I want to get other people involved more with some of the content as well (can you say: guest posts!).

If you have ideas, please let me know! I'd love to incorporate topics that other people want to read about (or maybe even write about).

Here's to 2016! I have a feeling it'll be the best year yet!
